Episode 03: Summer in Burgundy
Written By Apple User
It was the summer of 2019, destined to be our first year of peaceful barging, idling away the French summer days on the tree lined canals. However, that was not to be. The boat was nowhere near completion. The new steel bottom was just begun, and the huge steel plates had only recently arrived from Holland. Anyway- our Children were en route for our holiday- and we could simply switch gears. Rather than pilot a river boat, we piloted a river house- and enjoyed the provincial life. To visit land bound villages rather than those on the canal front. And we had plenty of time to studay for, and sit for the barge pilots written exam in Lyon, which is only given in French.
